Gore-Tex XCR material keeps you dry, in combination with WaterTight zippers. The women's Sidewinder features women's specific fit, so you don't have to settle for ill-fitting men's wear. The signature Sidewinder curved front zip keeps the zipper away from your chin, but easily accessible. Skiing off-piste in Europe or heli skiing in Canada? Adding safety to comfort, Arc'teryx incorporates RECCO Rescue System Reflectors in the Sidewinder AR. This feature could increase your chances of being found, should you go under in a slide. xtreme outerwear
This jacket is great. It’ll keep the water, wind and cold off ya for sure. Sturdy zips, useful inner pockets, and I love the outer pocket on the sleeve - I keep my ID and cash there so I don’t have to go digging in my pants for it. The only thing I don't really like about the jacket is that it's kinda stiff. When I’m wearing it out on the streets just to keep me dry, it's not as comfy as I would like. But hey, it's an XTREME jacket so if that's what you're looking for, buy it!


Bulletproof and warm
I took this jacket to the top of Kilimanjaro, where it was -20F with high winds. We also got wet. No water leakage and no wind leakage. It survived scrapes with rough volcanic soil, too, and it still looks new. A very tough jacket that is easy to layer under. The hood is a little small for a good fit over a ski helmet. The main zipper is a bit stiff, my only complaint.


A great jacket, but try one on, first!
This is an awesome shell. It's warm with or without a liner, and extremely wind and waterproof. It's seen me through some pretty crazy conditions, without fault. I love that it has the RECCO avalanche beacon on the arm. I find that it fits slightly large throughout the shoulders, but all the better for layering, I suppose. It fits differently than a lot of Arc'teryx's other jackets, though, so I'd recommend trying it on before buying!


Dry & happy
I love this jacket! I skied and snowshoed through Sierra cement and rain, and through a surprisingly wet Colorado snow storm. Not a leak, perfect, nice fit too. Pricey, but truly well made.


Great quality
I love this jacket because it's made so well. But I guess it was too minimalist for me. A more substantial powder skirt would really be nice. The fabric has a really cold backing to it, so you need to wear more than just a base layer. It fits true to size, but slimly.
