Atomic Neox 614 Alpine Binding

Brand : Atomic
Item : ATO0086

Atomic freely admits that the Neox 614 Alpine Binding looks kinda ugly. The good news is that it skis real pretty-like. The Neox gives you more fun with less risk, thanks to a bevy of ingenious safety and performance features. Fullflex Twin design means the Neox lets your whole ski flex so you get the full benefit from those high-tech planks. A moveable AFD plate under the toe and backward release system let you recover fully if you keep it together, and let you loose no matter which crazy direction you fall in. A laser-print DIN Scale that gets individually tested and printed at the factory ensures you get exactly the release setting you specify. With metal reinforcements and a beefy DIN range of 6-14, the Neox delivers for your aggressive style. Brake widths: Green, 76mm; Yellow, 76mm;Red, 76mm; Orange, 81mm.

Atomic Neox 614 Alpine Binding

Atomic Neox 614 Alpine Binding
Excellent purchase!!! Already tested them at Heavenly resort on my new Atomic M10 skis, just before the end of the season. This binding holds well and secure at high speeds, and will give you the confidence to push the limits a little. I highly recommended this binding set that comes with the great price.

So far, so good...
Purchased this binding for use with the Atomic M:EX skis. The binding is not as ugly as magazine staff reviewers make it out to be. I was able to mount the bindings myself in less than 20 minutes. I've ridden three spring days with the binding and it complements the M:EX ski perfectly. Bindings are one of those items that rarely get the attention they deserve. I haven't had any issues with pre-releases and haven't crashed hard enough to get the binding to release. My one complaint is the binding is a little heavier than normal. The 2006 edition apparently addresses the weight concern by reducing some of the beef.

Neox 614
The Neox 614 heel binding does seem more prone to pre-release. Increasing the Din to 12 has mitigated the problem, but I will still occasionally drop a ski when skiing bumps or heavy snow. I often do not fall but just leave a ski behind when this happens. I weigh about 170 pounds with a 298mm bootsole so a din of 12 is considerable more than what is recommended by Atomic. These bindings are quite a bit less prone to pre-lease than the pre Neox version.
