Black Diamond Ethic Telemark Ski

Brand : Black Diamond
Item : BLD0655

The backcountry skier's ethical dilemma: to poach a few turns or not to poach? The Black Diamond Ethic Telemark ski's answer is “Yes, duh.” The Ethic is a hyper-versatile midfat, equally at home in fluffy, virgin powder or in sun-hardened mashed-potato mank. The Ethic's Densolite/wood core is leg-sparingly light for backcountry use, but tough enough to take resort abuse for days when you're feeling like someone else should do the work getting you up the hill. Dura-Edge carbide steel edges hold a tune famously, and the Electra sintered graphite base is eye-wateringly fast if that's your thing. The Ethic's binding plate handles tele or AT bindings equally well. If you can only have one ski, or aren't sure which one from the quiver is right, grab the Ethic and you'll be ready for anything.

Black Diamond Ethic Telemark Ski

BD Ethics
Great do-everything ski. Likes to turn quickly, and performs well at speed. The 185 is actually a bit longer than 185. Can't wait to play in some powder - with the wide platform under the boot, they should be very stable. My only gripe is they're a bit sloppy when running in a straight line, ie: not turning. I mounted them with Targa G-3 bindings and like the response. Plus, they look hella cool.

super fun ski
out of the 3 I demoed, this was way better then the atomic and K2. This did great in the bumps mounted with an 02. It is great in all conditions. Definitely take this one out this year.

ski ride
Skis are nice, light, and worked great in bumps. A little chattery on groomers but fun in light powder and moguls.

BD Ethic
I'm not one to jump on the latest ski. I find something that is proven and then look for a deal. There are plenty of Ethics around at a great value and they are that. I'm 6-1 and 240 lbs. with T-1's and R8's. I'm on the 185 and have thoroughly enjoyed them this season. From ice, to pow, to packed powder, to frozen roy, to ice, to mashed potatoes these have delivered as advertised. I prefer high speed GS turns and these hold in edge in all of it. "super damp" as described in various reviews is right. Solid, stable, with a firm edge hold. They like a longer radius turn but can cut a quick turn if you really stand on them. 4 is as good as it gets as no ski can get a five as a quiver of one. this one comes pretty close. A great ski for the typical midwest conditions. Highly variable. A little narrow for deep powder or foot deep day old crud but they bust through most anything with little deflection. I've skied K2, G3, and Rossi but I'm a big fan of BD.
