Burton Audex Down Jacket w/ Audex Pack - Men's
Brand : BurtonItem : BUR0741
Since it works as a freeze-fighting layering piece or an around town casual jacket and is wired for the latest technology, you'll always have a reason to wear the Burton Men's Audex Down Jacket. The coat is fully Bluetooth enabled so you can stay in touch, work while you walk, or have access to thousands of your favorite tunes with compatible personal electronics. Down is an awesome natural insulator, because it's lightweight and super packable, plus it has a plush, luxurious feel. Years ago you couldn't wear a down jacket when it snowed, because the down would get wet and clump up. Burton solved that problem with a waterproof shell, so you can wear the Audex on its own for riding. *Available for US Shipment Only.

Burton Audex Down Jacket w/ Audex Pack - Men's
Burton/Motorola Audex
As far as skiing goes in this jacket, I have to say I have no complaints. It’s well thought out design of pockets, hood, and general design can not be faulted. But I doubt people will buy this jacket just to keep warm and dry. I am used to skiing sometimes with an iPod. However, I always found I ended up getting tangled in wires. Plus I could never hear my phone ring which was a pain. For this reason alone this jacket is a must. The speakers in the hood are loud enough to be heard whilst not so loud to annoy people around you. But when a call comes in the music stops an you can answer the call no problem. Call quality is first rate and people who I have spoken to say then can also here me clearly through the in built microphone. The controls are easy to use even with thick gloves.
My Audex Jacket in Alaska
This is a cool crazy jacket! It rocks! But it’s very, very pricy. Makes me wonder if Audex will come up with cheaper models. I live on Nelson Island along the coast of Alaska. So you can imagine how cold and boring it can get. Actually, it’s not really boring, just freaken’ cold! The jacket is surprisingly warm. I enjoy listening to music with it very much. So does my friends. They all think it’s like the coolest jacket. But it’s too pricy for them to want to get one. It would be sweet if Audex came up with more models.
Good jacket, so-so electronics
I'm writing this review after my first weekend riding with this jacket in 0-20 degree cold. The jacket is great. I've had some very good layering pieces including the top end Burton AK stuff and nothing has kept me nearly as warm as this jacket. This weekend was one of the coldest I've felt in 10+ years of riding at Mammoth Mtn and the jacket didn't disappoint. That being said, the electronics has issues. My jacket is the first generation and I had problems getting the iPod to play. The bluetooth worked flawlessly with my phone but after 2 days of jerking around with the jacket I gave up on the iPod. Frustratingly enough, the iPod works when I'm at home or the condo but I never got it to work on the hill which is the whole point of having that built into the jacket. I love the jacket as it is but wish that the Audex stuff would work better. For the price I paid on this site, it's totally worth it IMHO, but just be prepared for finicky electronics.
awesome jacket!! when it works
this jacket is amazing i love it but honestly when i first got the one i ordered it didnt work but thank god on burtons warranty so then i got a whole new jacket which worked perfect... for about 4 days till it took a crap on me so i mean you might get lucky and find one that doesnt break on you but if your patient and dont mind sending stuff back and not having a jacket for a week or so then get it haha
this jacket is ridiculously warm...
And the Audex aspect of it is great. Like other reviewers have said, sound is great, eliminates wires and such. Haven’t used the Bluetooth phone aspect of it, so no review there. In terms of the jackets ergonomic quality, all pockets are well thought out, typical Burton quality, meaning great. I was out in 15f degree windy weather, and it was awesome. The hood fit well, very little wind getting through once it was correctly adjusted. Plenty of movement, and warmth was optimum. I had no layering, just a t-shirt, bib pants and the jacket. Sweet.
