Excellent Choice for Carry On
I purchased the Carry-On ES after owning the 20" Tarmac ES for a few months. It's wonderful. Excellent storage compartments and works well with the pack-it bags. can hold a lot. it's durable and doesn't tip over when loaded down. Padded compartment for laptop or extra pack-it bags is GREAT! Only cons I can find are: front/top flap doesn't open completely (like a book), zippers aren't large-don't seem strong, can be heavy and awkward to carry when fully loaded.


Very useful for traveling light
I bought the Eagle Creek Carryon ES for business trips when I wanted to travel with one item of hand luggage only. It's just the right size for a few shirts, a spare pair of trousers and a sweater. I use an Eagle Creek Pack-it folder to keep everything neat (size 18 just fits). It keeps the weight down by not having wheels etc. The pockets are very well thought out and useful for small items. The section for a laptop is not specially padded, so I put my laptop in a padded sleeve before putting it in the bag. If you're careful not to overstuff it, it will fit in the overhead luggage locker of an Embraer 145 (a regional jet with small overhead bins). For me, this is an excellent bag for business trips of up to 5 days, but I travel light.
