Elan M 777 Alpine Ski
Brand : ElanItem : ELA0027
Rip the corduroy into tatters and fly on top of the powder on the titanium reinforced Elan M777 alpine fat ski. Two sheets of titanium sandwich the M777's wood core, making the ski super burly and tough enough to handle high speeds. Play in the powder all day long floating on the ski's wide shovel and 87 millimeter waist. The ski's Express energy control system uses an elastomer framework throughout the ski to spread every ounce of pressure straight into the edges. This distribution creates awesome edge control and power—especially when you arc into a high speed turn that turns suddenly from powder to boiler plate ice.

Elan M 777 Alpine Ski
ski fast, take chances
these skis don't squirrel out on ya, which is what i was concerned about since i was going to a much shorter ski (176cm elans). I'm coming off 198cm rossi dualtecs, about 65mm waist width, so these skis have a different feel than i am used to ...and i am also backing down a bit off my old school technique of cranking the downhill ski. but the bottom line is these skis rock.
fast and dominant
This ski is wonderfully fast and it's true that it can handle the crud and ice. No problems moving from powder to hard stuff. Easy to get on/off edges and ski just begs for you to push it harder and farther. Very confident ski for big terrain.
Whistler on Elan Fatties
So I bought these skis prior to a trip to Whistler which as you know is a bi-bi-biiggg mountain with some very hard terrain and often mixed conditions. These skis definitely kicked ass. I'm (ahem) husky (240lb)-- which means I like a slightly softer ski with a little more give or I'm just not getting around that first turn on the drop in. But a soft short carved ski means a slow ski. And I always hated playing pokey at the bottom when all my fast twitch friends point and shoot. So these skis IMHO struck a great balance between a good carve, some kick, and enough girth to keep me above the pow. I liked them because in addition to getting all that you want in a shaped ski they are are also much faster than most I've skied on -- which again is a real bonus once you come out of the chute into that huge bowl and three minutes to lift close. Although we didn't hike much on this trip, these skis are also very light, which is always a plus for the shlep or slog. The ski is all good. No negatives.
