Silvretta Pure Freeride Binding
Brand : SilvrettaItem : GAR0081
The Silvretta Pure Free Ride Alpine Touring Binding proves that you don't have to haul a huge binding uphill to huck on the descents. Silvretta beefs up their popular Pure Binding, raising the DIN to 12 but keeping their unique pivot point under the ball of your foot for a natural, comfortable stride with less moving parts. The Silvretta Pure Freeride still weighs in at only 1780g—significantly less than other AT bindings that also crank up to 12. The Pure Free Ride AT Binding is made for easy operation when you're marching to the untracked snow. Choose from two heel elevator heights and a flat position that compliments the easy stride of the Pure Freeride Binding for flatland traveling. The Pure Freeride only works with AT dedicated boots because of the positioning of the pivot point. With few moving parts and extremely stiff lateral construction, the Pure Freeride is a reliable, confidence inspiring backcountry binding.

Silvretta Pure Freeride Binding
Great Binding
Since mounting these I've had zero problems with them. They are light, easy to set up and very easy to use. I went with the Freeride for a little more beef for resort skiing. If you're looking for an AT binding that is light and strong take a good look at this one. I'm very happy with the purchase.
Be careful! Light, but not strong enough
I had these bindings for 2 years; worked without a problem. They were light, easy to use, and simple. Then I left them out overnight in -15 F weather, and in the morning I dropped my skis on the snow and the tail piece (which is the locking mechanism) shattered. Later I noticed that part of the front pivot system was broken, adding a lot of slop to the binding and some potential danger. I'm going with Naxo bindings now.
Freeride Binding Could be better
I replaced my old Silvretta 404's with the Pure Freeride hoping to get better turning ease with the better setback of the Freeride. This happened, but the steel plate of the Freeride heel cakes up with ice such that the heel cannot be locked down without chipping the ice off manually. This season I'll add a layer of teflon to the metal plate to see if that will avoid the problem.
