Garmont Adrenalin G-Fit Alpine Touring Ski Boot - Men's

Best Boots Ever
The Adrenalin G-Fit boots are so good. I have used them for two years as a ski teacher in Norway. In the rain or cold weather they will hold up. I have had over 100 days on them. I will use them this season too but the soles are worn down and I need new ones. Also the liner is getting a little worked. I ski every thing on these boots Bumps, park, carving, hiking, and backcountry lines. If you want super good boots get the ADRENALIN.

The Stiffest Boot for AT that you can still Tour with
Put these puts through the gauntlet and they are still holding up strong. They fit a medium to narrow profiled foot the best though. I wear size 9.5 street shoe and the 27.5 fits like a glove, perfect for me. Very stiff although the flex is sort of un-natural; it flexes a bit then just stops totally. Personally I like the flex and fit of a Scarpa boot more for my foot. But if you are looking for the stiffest boot that you can still skin comfortably in this is it for sure.

Backcountry bliss
Never having skied AT boots, I was very curious as I waited for the Adrenalins to arrive. Would I have to curb my aggressive style with these boots? Could I huck? Ski bumps? Could I throw away my alpine boots? A big dump in VT gave me the opportunity to answer these questions before my big BC trip to Jackson, WY. Driving my 165cm Volkl 724 Pro’s, they were great on the groomers; they were spongy, but manageable in the bumps; they were a little slow in tight trees; I thought I broke my foot on a small huck. When you flex them hard forward, the middle two buckles conflict and jam into your foot...this hasn't been as much of a problem since I started riding them in the more upright forward lean setting...I also now know to land a little in the back seat...still...I won't be hucking much in these. Lessons learned: I won’t be throwing away my alpine boots. These just can't stand up to the intensity of hard resort skiing. However, I think some alignment issues contributed to some of the control problems I had. Whatever doubts I had in my purchase were absolved after two days in the Teton backcountry (and another trip to the boot fitter). They were a pleasure to skin in (my only other experience skinning was using alpine boots); they were great hiking up the South Teton, kicking steps in hard snow; when it was time to lock them up to ski down, they were solid powering 180cm Verdicts in a slightly more conservative BC style (the only time I felt I needed to ski defensively was on hard sastrugi). Bottom line: these aren’t alpine boots, but you won’t have to pussy-foot through the BC either.

Worth It!
Wasn't sure whether to get the lighter G-Rides or the heavier stiffer Adrenalins. Boy am I happy I choose the later. They only weigh a few ounces more but the stiffness seems to be worth it. My 185 B3's(2004) outfitted with Freerides rode like a full alpine setup. I'm not super agressive but also not afraid to tackle a 50 degree line either. Ive only had one day on these but wouldn't recommend them for long tours, as for day trips into the BC, no worries. Also these come with alpine soles so you can use them with your alpine setup-hey 2 boots for the price of one. As a side note I'm 6'2" about 230(aka overweight) and a expert skier whose not about killin it but can hold my own. Look forward to more days, the Rubies should be good for a at least another month of creamy corn.
