Giro Encore Audio Helmet

Brand : Giro
Item : GIR0035

The Giro Encore no-bells and no-whistles performance helmet just got bells and whistles —introducing the Encore Audio Helmet. Giro combines serious freeriding performance with low-profile style for riders who want to do it more than talk about it. The shape gives homage to skateboarding helmets but the details set it apart. A high-impact ABS plastic shell combined with a lightweight EPS liner give your most vital piece of gear, your brain, the protection it needs. 13 air-cooling vents and soft, super-plush ear pads allow you to easily regulate to your comfort level. A security loop on the back keeps your goggles with you even after you pull that sick ragdoll-to-yardsale combo. The TuneUps sound system with integrated dynamic built-in ear pad speakers and in-line mute button keeps you rocking to the goldies all day long.

Giro Encore Audio Helmet

protect your dome
I recently got my Giro encore helmet with audio included and I thought it was pretty tight. I like the style of the helmet and everything but I didn't like how high it is on my head. I may make your head look bigger than usual. Of course I can also trust this helmet to keep me alive during the o so many diggers I’ll take this year doing rails n kik airs.

Giro Helmet
I like the helmet, the audio is really good. The ventilation system could use some improvement, my head got hot while I was skiing. But only if skiing hard. Overall very pleased.

Tune In for those who tend to tune out helmets
Found what I was looking for. One way to get you kids to wear a helmet is to put some earphones in it. I'm not sure that it is the best combination for safety but it is better than not wearing a helmet at all.

Sounds good to me
I bought this helmet to use with a Segway, and it's great having the audio system built in. Since the speaker's not inside your ear canal, you can still hear ambient noise like oncoming traffic, which is important on a Segway.

Giro Encore Audio Helmet
I had purchased this helmet in anticipation of a Spring trip to Taos for some Ridge hikes, but had a chance to test it out in WV, after 8 inches of fresh pow fell a couple of weeks ago. I figured I would try it out on a couple of runs, then ditch it to enjoy how I have always skied...less helmet. I ended up wearing the helmet all day. It was warm, not at all heavy on my head, and best of all it was pumping tunes into my skull without interruption. The sound is very good, and even some lift mates enjoyed the tunes. The one very, very minor complaint I have is that the mute button is difficult to manage. The clip for your jacket seems to be too close to the helmet connection and would not attach to my jacket in a good spot. I ended up just letting the mute switch hang outside of my jacket, and it worked just fine. Overall, I am very happy with the performance and value. The true test will come at Taos when I may have to test the protective elements the Giro Encore provides!
