La Sportiva Katana Climbing Shoe

Unbeatable performance, pitiful durability.
I've never owned a shoe that can edge as well as these shoes. No foothold is too small for the Katana. The heel design isn't the best for heel hooks, but the fit is absolutely perfect so there are no dead spots in the heel or anywhere else. According to La Sportiva sizing, I wear a 47 street shoe (13US), but I easily squeeze into a 43.5 Katana and I still consider the shoe comfortable. I have three pairs of these shoes, and the only gripe I have with these shoes is that they only last a couple of months (if you're lucky) before needing resoles.

a rockin shoe
These shoes are by far the best I've ever owned! Comfy is the word!! They edge so well and they are just all around sticky. They are lined and they DON'T stretch! Both outdoors and indoors, these shoes make for awesome bouldering especially. Heel hooks are the bomb now as well as appearing to stand on nothing... :)

Katana rock shoes
I've tried anasazi, i've tried mad rock, i've tried boreal and scarpa, and there is not one shoe that can compare to the katana; comfortable, perfect heel fit, edging power. Stop looking for rock shoes buy the KATANA now!!!!!! you won't regret it.

Great Shoe!
This shoe is really nice. It supports the foot well, even for my narrow foot and it edges really nicely without killing your big toe. The only complaint I have is that the heel cup is quite large. Not as large as some of the Five Ten shoes, but still large enough to where you can tell your heel is moving around. If you do a lot of heel hooking, I wouldn't recommend this shoe, but for all other types of climbing, it’s great!

good, but don't fit me
I wish I could wear these! They are amazing and people only rant and rave of these. I demoed them out and the heel cup is far too deep for my little heels. It hits me in a really bad spot right above my ankle and i can't get past the pain to do much climbing in them. The climbing i did get in them though the performed very awesome. Like some of the reviews say there is no foot hold these cannot do. You can get very techy with these and other than the heel cup they fit the rest of my foot really well!
