Set your sights on your point of descent and arrive there warm and dry in the three-in-one Mountain Hardwear Men's Epic Trifecta Jacket. Whether you're climbing to a distant peak or rocking the boat and skiing out of bounds, a Conduit lining gives you essential waterproofness and breathability. Wear the shell alone as you traverse across a bowl, then add the removable Arctic Fleece liner to keep warm while you wait for your friends to catch up. Unzip the pit vents at the base to cool down quickly. When fat flakes are falling in the lift line, the ergo hood fits your head like a glove. On clear days, it tucks away easily.

Mountain Hardwear Epic Trifecta Jacket - Men's
Does what it's designed for well
Was looking for both a shell and separate fleece, this jacket took care of both needs. The inner fleece is relatively heavy, like a 200 wt., very well designed, and would likely be a $125-150 retail value on it's own. Its looks, fit, and quality make this jacket worth a look. The shell is lightweight, breathable, and makes a decent almost year around shell option (at least here in the Southeast US). The relatively plain design is refreshing not a million zippers, pockets to leak or add weight] which is why the zip storage hood is curious; why? The collar is bulky and looks silly with hood stored in it. The hood also takes much adjustment to get it fit properly in the rain. I'd recommend ditching the zip away and focusing on a better hood design. The arms on the shell are also a bit long (a problem I found other MH jackets versus some other brands). Overall a great value in a waterproof/breathable shell with a fleece that really makes this jacket worth considering.
Great Jacket
I was a bit torn between this jacket and a few Marmots and Patagonia's, but this jacket has definitely exceeded my expectations. The only other thing I could ask for on the jacket is for the hood to be removable, or maybe a better pocket for a media player. The roll-up hood storage creates a bit more bulk than I would have wished. I think it is from the laminated bill of the hood, but I wouldn't remove that for anything.
Very good
Very light and warm.
Great Jacket
I went skiing in this jacket, wiped-out a few times, slid on my back a long ways, yet stayed warm and dry (not clammy either); afterwards not a blemish on the jacket, still new and shiny. It all worked good. Yeah, the sleeves are long,(all sleeves are long on me tho)but the hook and loop closure at the wrists doesn't allow them to hang.
