Rossignol built them with the same 7075 aluminum that's used in other high-end poles and added a twist lock that's easy-to-use, even with gloves on.

Good cheap adjustable pole
Not the best pole out there but a great option when I did not want to spend very much on them. They have held up but they do not break down very small and the poles are a tad on the heavier side. They are very strong and they hold their own in stability.
