I've never purchased a North Face shoes before so can't provide a comparison with other North Face shoes. When my friend first recommended North Face shoes to me, she actually recommended the Ultra 103 XCR. I tried it and it hit me the wrong way around my left ankle. When I tried on the Terrainius, I instantly loved it. Not only is it lightweight, it felt right everywhere on my feet. I have a high arch and yet the support and cushioning of the Terrainius felt really comfortable and snug, especially with some thick socks. However, after breaking them in for three days, my left shoe started bothering my left ankle a little bit. I had to adjust the tightness of my lacing and it felt better.


Awesome for adventure and support
These hiking shoes worked great for the hike I just took over the weekend. Lots of climbing over rocks, through mud and water. Had foot surgery on both feet and support is important to me. If you enjoy the outdoors like I do then these are the shoes for you.


Gearing up
I received my new hiking boots, something I thought I'd never do unless I went to a store and tried on a dozen or so. It was a pleasantly surprised to find a pair of decent hiking boots without all the trouble of shopping in stores. I have yet to really test them out on the trails or in the mountains. However, they are quite comfortable to wear around town and at work where I stand all day.
