The North Face Mountain Parka - Men's
A jacket with a nice slightly longer fit
Finally a jacket that is not too long or too short. This jacket is great and totally waterproof. The Gore-Tex XCR is un-beatable and lightweight. I like the zip-in compatibility, zip in my north face Denali on the colder days and it works excellent. I am 6'1" 170 and like the fit of the medium.
Nice Parka
I like the Mountain Parka. It is a little heavier but it is durable. I like the removable hood. My only gripe is that it has a metal eyelet on the back of the hood for adjusting side vision. The eyelet could get rain in it and possibly mildew in the drawstring channel. Otherwise I would give it a 5.
North Face Jacket
I have had several north face jackets over the years but this is my favorite by far. The outer shell sheds a lot of water before it even hits the membrane and its very wind tight. Highly recommended at these prices.
Great jacket!!
Had it for a few months now and I just can't say enough great things about it. The length is great... doesn't ride up when backpacking but isn't so long that you sit on it all the time. Shell is extremely waterproof and blocks wind great too! I've worn it with a Denali jacket zipped in with just a t-shirt underneath in 5 degree weather and barely got cold when I stayed still. On the go, it kept me nice and warm. This jacket is great for backpacking in any season, I never leave home without it!
Great parka!
I bought this jacket for skiing (I prefer the longer length) and it is great. I like the pocket arrangement--plenty of them in good spots. It does an excellent job of blocking wind. The workmanship appears to be very good. This is the first North Face ski parka I've purchased and I would definitely purchase the same parka again. I wish it had a D-ring for lift tickets.
