The Vans Old Skool is the latest version of longest running skateboard shoe model ever. Before the X-Games, before ollies and grinding there was Vans shoes. The first wave of skaterboarders needed a shoe that would grip to the skinny wooden planks that they were riding. The Vans gum rubber sole, glued to the shoe via vulcanization, allowed them to hang on to their board while taking surf inspired slides and carves to the pavement. The Old Skool is a direct descendent of the Vans vulcanized legacy. Today's skaters are still rocking the classic Vans waffle sole at skateparks and street spots worldwide. Best shoes ever!
These get my vote as the best shoes of all time. Their design is clean and timeless, which is why kids want to rock them and true old schoolers can't get enough. The gum-rubber soles are so grippy that I swear I can walk straight up a wall with a new pair on!


Good, but not great
Good shoes for the price, but not much foot or ankle support in comparison with Van's Core Skate line. I like them, but more for everyday wear.
