Vasque Breeze Hiking Boot - Men's

Brand : Vasque
Item : VSQ0002

The Vasque Breeze Hiking Boot is a lightweight and stable boot designed for shorter backpacking trips with lighter loads or long distance fast hiking. The last thing you need on a 30-mile day is a heavy pair of boots weighing you down. So Vasque combined technology found in the breathable uppers of their trail running shoes with a stable hiking boot mid- and outsole to create a sure winner on the trail. Supporting the Breeze from below is Vasque's proprietary Vibram outsole, featuring aggressive lugs and a super stable heel and toe-off pattern. A nylon plate separates the outsole from the EVA midsole, and is clearly visible through gaps in the Vibram rubber. This plate has incredible forward flex combined with torsional rigidity—letting your foot flow forward on the trail without being deflected by rocks and irregularities. Further, Vasque's high-quality DryTech footbed (which features full arch support) rests directly on the midsole EVA, which equals instant comfort and zero break-in period. Not too shabby! Finally, the Airmesh and Nubuck upper is super breathable and light, making the Breeze perfect for use in warm, dry climates. Should you get your boots a bit wet, the Airmesh dries quickly, making this boot great for all but the wettest climates.

Vasque Breeze Hiking Boot - Men's

Lightweight and absolutely NO Break In needed....
I hike primarily in the North Texas Hill Country around the Dallas metroplex.....uneven ground and some broken rock along with a stream jump now and then.... Purchased these because I was aware of the Vasque name and quality reputation....and because I was looking for a LIGHTER hiking boot than what I had. So far, after a week, they've pulled hiking duty perfectly. They are EXTREMELY lightweight (around 2 lbs 11 oz) and "breathe" as promised - allowing my feet (and therefore, all of my body) to feel much cooler than it has in previous hiking boots. And best of all....I wore them right out of the box for a six mile hike the first day and they felt broken in within the first 100 feet of trail. Absolutely NO break in period needed...and that alone should make them a winner to anyone considering purchasing them. They have a wide toe box which I feel is another plus....and they look good on top of all the other pluses. HIGHLY recommended for beginners and intermediate hikers....not much more weight than Trail Running shoes but offering much more support and much better ankle protection...from sprains and the snake that you may encounter along the trail.....

Vasque Breeze Hiking Boots
I took these Breezers on a 5 mile break-in hike and then headed straight to Joshua Tree NP in the California desert. Temperatures were in the high 80's all day, the wind was dry and the ground was hot and rocky. The Breezers truely live up to their name, seeming to pump hot air out with every step. They fit, they breath, they stick to the ground-a great hiking and light packing boot.

Vasque Breeze Review
Overall, a very good light trail shoe that I would recommend to anyone. The Vasque Breeze performs as advertised: - Fits well out of the box - an understatement actually. - Very comfortable, with a thicker sole than some other light trail shoes I have used. I would have given the shoe a 5 rating if they had made it a bit thicker though. I would be willing to trade off some weight for greater cushioning, but this is a personal preference as my feet are kind of sensitive. - Extremely light, probably even more so than my sneakers I think the shoe is best used during a hot summer hike on a clear trail. I read an earlier post where the reviewer mentioned that the shoe got torn up by underbrush on a desert hike and I can certainly believe this. I wouldn't call the Vasque Breeze a rugged shoe, but it is rugged enough given what it is designed for. Overall, a great light trail shoe that most people will really like.

Quite possibly the best hiking boots I've ever owned!
The Vasque Breeze boots are great hiking boots. I've hiked 150+ miles in my pair in varying terrains (from the deserts of AZ and UT to the Mtn.s of WY) and haven't had any problems. The support is great - I typically backpack with 25 lbs or less, but I've used these boots on extended trips of 1 week +, hiking with 40 lbs. They really handle loads well; I haven't had any blisters or sore feet. The durability is very good as well. After many trips in the UT deserts, they're holding up well with only minor scratches to the leather uppers and no signs of unstitching (though I've discovered red sand leaves a permanent stain in the leather). They breath better than any other pair of boots I've owned too. (I typically rotate between the Asolo Fugitive and the Vasque Breeze and have found in dry climates the Breeze is supeior in breathability). The fit is also excellent for people with narrow feet. I definitely plan to purchase another pair, possibly the GTX model.

Great Summer Hiking Boots
I totally dig the light weight of these boots. The build quality is great and they breathe really well. Since they breathe really well, expect your feet to get wet if you even quickly submerge them. I highly recommended these hiking boots.
